The Marcel Proust room

Marcel Prousts værelse på Vindbyholtgårds refugium.

The Marcel Proust room is the largest in the residency and is reserved for couples or two people. It offers excellent working conditions, featuring a classic desk, a large work table, a writing desk, and several smaller tables. With no fewer than five windows, the room is wonderfully bright and has its own door leading to the spacious garden. It is located at the end of the corridor, farthest from the shared kitchen and bathroom, ensuring a quiet and private atmosphere.

The room is furnished with two 90 cm-wide beds, complete with duvets, pillows, a bedspread, and woolen blankets. The beds can be arranged together or kept separate. Please bring your own bed linen.

Additionally, the room includes an armchair, extra chairs, a cupboard, and a mirror. It is heated by a heat pump, but there is also a wood-burning stove for added warmth and coziness.

How do I apply?

To apply for a stay at the residency, you must submit an application. Your application should include a short explanation (max. 10 lines) and details about which room you prefer and the desired week(s) of your stay (please list several options).

Note: A stay can last between 1 and 4 weeks. The cost is DKK 1,000 per week for Leif Hasle’s and Gyllembourg’s rooms, while the larger Proust room costs DKK 1,500 per week. Young people under 30 and students receive a 50% discount. The rent includes water, heating, electricity, and internet. A printer is available in the refuge for a small user fee.

Children are welcome in the month of July. Overnight guests must be coordinated with the foundation or hosts via email.

As a guest, you must provide your own food, bring your own bed linen and towels, and clean the room and common areas before departure.

Residency stays run from Sunday to Sunday:
Check-in: Sunday at 12:00 (or by appointment).
Check-out: Sunday at 10:00 (or by appointment).

We look forward to receiving your application!
